Game Sightings: Ndlopfu for week-end 1st to 3rd September 2006.
This was a relatively quiet week-end as far as game sightings go on Ndlopfu. This is also due to the fact that we had very few members on the farm over this period.
Dirk Ackerman and friends from number 35 were fortunate to see a pride of lion on the farm near the Ndlopfu access road. This pride is made up of four females and two young males. The two males are estimated to be approximately three years old. The lions did not stay on the farm for long and moved into the Klaserie where they were seen on the Thomas property. A group of seven elephant bulls were seen on the farm spending a lot of their time in the area between Yankee Dam and the Big Dam.
The Hippo is still resident in the Big Dam and is seen regularly by members, he is getting over his initial shyness and is often seen basking in the sun outside the water.
Members are reporting a lot of Kudu sightings which is encouraging. A group of six kudu bachelor bulls was seen near Dave’s Crossing, totally relaxed with the vehicles and people around them.
No unusual sightings were recorded for this week-end.
Members are encouraged to please note their sightings in the new sightings book before departing the farm. It could be very useful information for us in compiling a data base as well as being informative to other members.
